What Bow Dash keeps

Bow Dash is a free game made by Boost Lab, Inc. for Elizabeth Rose Boutique in Dade City, Florida. It is made for children and their families, so it is built to know nothing about who is playing.

In short: no accounts, no real names, no photos, no location, no chat, no ads, no ad trackers, and nothing is ever sold. Nothing is ever asked of a child. The only things that leave the phone are what the scoreboards and friend challenges need (a grown-up can turn those off), and a parent's email if a parent chooses to sign up for the monthly secret word.

Kept on your device

Clearing this site's data in your browser removes all of it.

Scoreboards and friend challenges

When "Scoreboards and friend challenges" is on (on the Grown-ups page), Bow Dash sends these to its own scoreboard, run by Boost Lab on Supabase:

How long it is kept: play counts for 90 days, ghosts and challenges for 30 days, scores for one year. Then they are deleted on their own. Nothing is used for advertising or sold.

With it off, Bow Dash plays fully offline and sends nothing. Players who had the first version of Bow Dash start with it off.

The monthly secret word by email (grown-ups only)

On the Grown-ups page, behind the grown-up question, a parent can give an email address to receive each month's secret word and news from Elizabeth Rose Boutique. We keep the email, when it was given, the random id of the device, and the wording the parent agreed to. Nothing about the child is stored with it. The boutique uses it only for that email and never sells it. When you unsubscribe (every email has a link) or ask us, the address is erased; only a one-way fingerprint of it is kept, so it cannot be signed up again.

The free hair bow

When a player reaches the County Fair in one dash (or level 10), the Grown-ups page asks the scoreboard for a code. The scoreboard checks the player's own posted scores and makes a six-letter code tied to the random device id. Staff mark it as given at the shop. The code is kept, so each player gets one bow. No purchase is needed.

What is loaded from elsewhere

The 3D drawing library (Three.js) is loaded once from the jsDelivr network and then kept on the phone. Like any website, that network sees the internet address of the connection that asks for it. Nothing about the game is sent with the request.

The Grown-ups page shows a few of the boutique's products, fetched from the same scoreboard server. That request carries nothing about the player.

Links to the boutique

Links to Elizabeth Rose Boutique's shop and Instagram are only in the part of the game marked "For grown-ups", behind a grown-up question. They open in your browser, where the shop's own privacy policy applies. Shop links say they came from Bow Dash and which outfit Posy was wearing, and nothing else.

Postcards and sharing

The Postcard button (also behind the grown-up question) makes a picture of Posy and the score on your phone, then opens your phone's own share menu, so you choose who sees it. The game does not see who you share with.
